Scholarship Fund, which awards educational assistance to the spouses and children of Coast Guard men
and women killed in the line of duty.
On behalf of the Navy League, McGrath and
Bernard presented grants of $75,000 each to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and U.S. Coast Guard
Foundation, and $100,000 to the Wounded Marine
Careers Foundation.
Bernard extended the Navy League’s thanks to the
grant recipients “for their unparalleled support to the
men and women of the sea services and their families
who have sacrificed so much in service of the nation.”
While the Tribute Dinner celebrated senior military
officials and those they lead, the event also provided
the Navy League an opportunity to salute its industry
partners and donors for their generosity throughout
the year.
Navy League Corporate Members and councils supporting the event included Boeing Co., General Dynamics Corp. and Manitowoc Marine Group, all of whom
helped underwrite the reception and dinner, as well as
