Seapower travels to the Texas Gulf Coast region of the Coast Guard’s vast
Eighth District, which is headquartered in New Orleans, covers all or part of 26
states throughout the Gulf Coast and heartland, and includes 1,200 miles of
coastline and 10,300 miles of inland navigable waterways. Coverage will focus
on Gulf Coast activities, including maritime and port security, search and rescue
and law enforcement, fisheries enforcement and maritime resources protection
and partnerships with local and state agencies in executing those missions.
