large liquid-rocket engines.
; Boeing opened the Boeing Research & Technology-Missouri
research center in St. Louis. The facility will serve as the regional hub
for collaborative technology development with academic institutions
and research partners in systems
technology. The center includes the
Non-Destructive Test Lab, the
Human Systems Integration Center,
a Polymer Synthesis Lab and the
soon-to-be-built Collaborative Autonomous Systems Lab.
; Foss Maritime announced the
opening of a new office to support
and grow its customer base headquartered in Houston, and the formation of a new project management group. John Tirpak has been
appointed vice president of business development and contract
services and will be relocating to
Houston to develop business in the
region and lead the business development function of the entire
Marine Transportation division
from the new office. Mike Lauer
has been appointed director of
Marine Transportation Project
Services and will be leading the

business. Prior to her new role,

; Northrop Grumman Corp.
named Kevin Mickey vice president,
advanced design. Most recently, Mi-

(HII) promoted Philip Luna, corporate vice president and president,
Universal Pegasus International, a
subsidiary of HII, to the HII senior
executive team. HII announced
