an administrative office still is
under construction. Future plans
call for workshops for the cadets
to learn electrical, plumbing and
other construction trades.
The land for the facility —
seven acres surrounded by another
400 acres that the Sea Cadets can
access with constraints, such as no
cutting of trees — was deeded as a
donation. Organizations including
NMCB 27, Detachment 8;
American Legion Post 39 in
Madison; Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 7865; the Madison chief of
police’s office; the Kennebec
County Sheriff’s Department; and
the Navy League’s Penobscot Bay
