Neutralizing mines by hand is a delicate, treacherous job. It puts warfighters in harm’s way. The U.S.
Navy and Northrop Grumman are fielding the Rapid Airborne Mine Clearance System, a breakthrough
weapons system that allows mines to be destroyed from a standoff position. RAMICS is a low-cost
solution to clear mines with unprecedented speed, accuracy and safety. Its 30mm projectile
relies on the science of supercavitation to accurately penetrate the water and destroy a mine. RAMICS
defends ships, ensures open seas and, more importantly, keeps sailors out of the minefield.
